In order to be able to clean a hotel room quicker, you are going to have to learn some time management skills. As with all jobs but more so with cleaning hotel rooms, you need to really focus and concentrate on your job. You have a lot to do. If you have not planned ahead and thought about exactly what you need to do then you are always going to forget things. Forgetting things is going to lead to negative consequences. The whole moral of the story is if this is a job that you want to do then why not put everything you have into it and do a great job rather than do a half job and lose your job in the process.
The first thing you’re going to need to do is to make sure that your trolley is full of equipment and all the supplies that you are going to need.
The first thing you’re going to do is open the curtains and let some light in. Check the curtains to see if they are any types of pests hanging off them like moths for example. If are then deal with them.
Next, you’re going to check the room for anything that has been left behind. Always be honest and if something has been left behind take it to the reception.
The next part is to remove all garbage and trash from the room. Also, check underneath the bed and under all furniture to make sure that you do not miss anything.
Gather all the glassware and clean them. This part is very important because no one wants to drink out of a dirty glass.
Strip the beds take off the pillowcases and make a nice clean fresh bed. To save time making the bed, what I have found to help me do it quickly is to always prep the linen beforehand so that its ready to go.
Clean the bathroom – The quickest method to get the bathroom done fast is to start up and move down. Start on the walls and move down and clean as you go along. For example, shower first, shelves, then the toilet, then basin, etc.
Keep the floor for last – once the entire room has been cleaned then you clean the floor. If your hotel still uses cotton mops and buckets then you are wasting so much time. Ask them to change over to microfiber flat mops and you will get the floor done in about a quarter of the time. Valuable information here, regarding microfiber mops.
